Why do we exist?

In a nutshell

Little Red Library is founded on the refusal to accept capitalism as inevitable. We reject the idea that success requires the exploitation of one’s fellow proletariat.

This archive exists to preserve and circulate anti-capitalist thought outside the control of markets, states, and private ownership. We oppose the commodification of knowledge and the reduction of human worth to productivity and profit.

Too many of our fellow Americans from which point on I shall refer to as comrades, are kept blind by capitalist propaganda. Many comrades are given a small taste of being a winning capitalist, such as a high paying job, lottery, or a promise of a successful business becoming a global conglomerate, while it may be attainable for the few, those few are just lucky enough to succeed in this capitalist game. These few and rare successes are voiced as proof of possibilities to those who have yet to attain their "bag". So our comrades remain to compete in this capitalist game and they do this by voting against social programs and higher wealth taxes because they would rather not pay for someone else, or be taxed so highly that they one day in the hopefully near future have their "bag" stolen from them.
